Can this breed fly?
- The cabin is capped at 8 kg including the carrier at Lufthansa, KLM and Air France; heavier pets travel in the hold or as manifest cargo.
- Snub-nosed (brachycephalic) breeds are banned from the hold by Lufthansa, KLM and Air France for safety. They can still fly in the cabin if they fit under the 8 kg limit (carrier included); larger snub-nosed pets travel by road or specialist cargo with veterinary sign-off.
- On the IATA CR-82 list of strong breeds, so they must fly in a reinforced CR-82 crate. These crates are heavier, pricier and not stocked everywhere, which affects cost and routing.
